PAIGE BARNHART

Paige is a sophomore from Chesapeake, VA studying Computational Modeling and Data Analytics with emphasis in Cybersecurity and Cryptography and double minors in Political Science and Honors Transdisciplinary Praxis. This is her second season marching with the Marching Virginians as an MVNet in Rank 11! Away from the MVs, she is the President of the Virginia Tech Chapter of the National Society of Leadership and Success and is active in her sorority, Kappa Alpha Theta, as a member of both the philanthropy and media committees. In her spare time, Paige loves to hike, spend time with her friends, and particpate in service opportunities across campus!

 

EMY DELAPORTE

Emy is a dual degree junior in professional and technical writing and multimedia journalism with double minors in natural resources recreation and biodiversity conservation. This is her third season marching with and blogging for the Marching Virginians! She’s a proud member of the MVPix. Outside of the band, she’s editor-in-chief of Silhouette Literary and Art Magazine and a section editor for the Collegiate Times's Lifestyles column, as well as a member of the Bird Club, The Wildlife Society, the National Deer Association, WUVT-FM and more. Emy spends her free time birding, doing data in CNRE labs, writing poetry, backpacking, driving and taking in the cold night air.

BENJAMIN GOZZI

Ben is currently studying at Virginia Tech and is majoring in Communication. In his inaugural season with the Marching Virginians, Ben is beyond excited to keep forming relationships with his saxophone section family and to continue to cherish every moment he spends with the entire Spirit of Tech. He is beyond excited to expand his communicative skills as a blogger for Marching with the Virginians. Outside of band, Ben loves to be physically active, game online with his friends, and spend time with his loved ones in Richmond, VA. Ben is extremely excited to grow as both a marcher and a blogger during the Marching Virginians’ illustrious 50th season!

 

SARAH BELL

Sarah is a first-year student at Virginia Tech studying International Relations. She is so incredibly excited to be part of the Marching Virginians and to be able to contribute to the blog! Sarah is a part of the horn section of the MV's. She believes that Wicked is the best Broadway musical, and that laughter is the best medicine. Sarah is originally from Roanoke, VA., but she is over the moon to be able to call Blacksburg her home. Over the course of the upcoming season, she is hoping to grow as a musician and a marcher alongside the rest of the band.

 

SARAH-FAITH MUKUNA

Sarah-Faith is a third year biological systems engineering major from Fairfax County, VA., on the health professions (specifically pre-med) track. She also minors in French. She is head manager of rank 69! One of their biggest hobbies is writing, which is why she is so excited to serve the band on this team! Sarah-Faith also loves listening to music and playing their instruments; she just started playing the tenor sax! Outside of MVs, Sarah-Faith is the Northeast District Secretary-Treasurer of Tau Beta Sigma and a member of National Society of Black Engineers. In their free time, they love reading books (90% chance it’s Percy Jackson), going to the gym, and cooking.

 

SETH BOEHRINGER

Willy is a senior majoring in biochemistry, microbiology, and exercise science and minoring in cinema! This is his fourth year with the MVs and first year as part of the blog staff. Outside of band, Willy enjoys learning about film production, working in his research lab, and watching superhero shows (his favorite is Superman: The Animated Series). He is currently looking at graduate schools and hopes to research microbial engineering for environmental issues.
