October 3-4 - VT vs. Wake Forest

Join us for a weekend of MV memories and fun! This year’s events will include an opportunity to march in the VT Homecoming Parade on Friday night, practice with the current MVs on Saturday, our Fall MVAA meeting, and marching at halftime in Lane Stadium for the VT vs. Wake Forest Homecoming game,

  • Friday, October 3

    • Early Registration at MVC

    • Homecoming Parade

  • GAMEDAY: Saturday, October 4

    • Registration opens at MVC

    • Alumni Rehearse with MVs - including a reading session with current and favorite MV tunes

    • Annual MVAA Meeting & Break - you have the option to order Chick-fil-a if boxed meals if you’d like to eat before we head over to the stadium

    • Parade to Lane Stadium

    • Kick-off

    • 5 minutes before halftime - join MVs to enter Worsham Field

Fees FOR Alumni Day 2025

These fees make MVAA events and outreach possible. Thank you for your support!

  • Full Game Day Registration: $35 - includes an MVAA uniform polo shirt needed to march halftime

  • Returning Registration: $10 - this option is for alumni who already have their maroon MVAA uniform polo from a previous year or are not planning to march at halftime

  • MVAA Youth Registration: FREE - students must have marching band experience and wear an MVAA uniform polo

  • Additional MVAA Uniform Polo Shirts: $25

  • Boxed Meal: $17 - Chick-fil-A sandwich, chips, and a bottled water

Marching at Halftime

Marching at halftime is optional but strongly encouraged! This is your chance to talk to current students, hand out business cards to soon-to-be graduates, and perform again in front of thousands of cheering Hokie fans!

Uniform

Everyone who plans to march at halftime (including kids!) or the parade is expected to wear the maroon uniform MVAA polo shirt and blue jeans.

Jeans should be pant length (no “jorts” or “japris”) and free of holes on knees/thighs/backsides. Please help us send the right message to Virginia Tech and Hokie fans!

Any of the maroon polo shirts we’ve offered for Alumni Day events in the past should be fine!

Game Tickets

Athletics has some tickets on hold for us for this event and you can order them through this website: https://fevo.me/mvalumni2023. You can also order through SeatGeek (official distribution site for VT) or utilize the TechSideline Ticket Exchange. Just make sure you get real tickets!

 

Youth Marching at Halftime

Young people with high school marching band experience may participate in halftime with their registered family members and do not need to pay an additional registration fee. However, they will need to be registered using the youth registration option and wear a uniform polo shirt for the performance. The youth registration does not come with a polo, so you may need to purchase one separately if this is their first time marching.

Food

Alumni who would like to eat at the MVC before the game may choose to add boxed meals to their registration. You may also want to check out the amazing selection of concessions inside the stadium and dining options around Blacksburg!

Parking

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide parking for alumni. Please check these websites for more information about game day parking and shuttle services:

You may be able to obtain a parking pass if you purchase your tickets through TechSideline Ticket Exchange.

Parading to the Stadium

Alumni who will be marching at halftime may choose to participate in the Parade to Victory that enters the South Endzone. Alumni will march as a group behind the current MVs as they leave The Marching Virginians Center, but we may need to break off and enter the gates this year.

If you are not marching halftime or have young children, we ask that for everyone's safety you please enter the stadium with your game tickets through the public gates.

Instruments

If you need to borrow an instrument, please make sure to indicate that on your registration. Large instruments can be left under the MV stands in land stadium during the game, but make sure to bring them back to the pavillion at the MVC before you leave.

REGISTRATION OPTIONS

ALL MV alumni planning to attend the Alumni Day need to register! Registration provides an accurate count of alumni planning to attend, alumni planning to march, meals and shirts to order, and any instruments needed. If you already have a maroon MVAA polo OR do not plan to march at halftime, please choose the returning registration option. Spouses, family members, friends, and children who don’t plan to march and do not need a meal do NOT need to register. If you are registering a child with marching experience, please make sure to use the youth registration option.
